On Saturday June 10th, we will once again gather thousands of people in a parade through the streets of Bergen. For many of us, the parade is the very highlight of pride, and an important day where we can celebrate our freedom and the fight for our rights!

Pride parades are a political celebration that celebrates both the diversity in the society and the right to love who you love and be who you are. Since the Stonewall riot in 1969, which is considered the start of the modern fight for queer rights, pride parades have spread throughout the world, and today move millions of people through thousands of cities around the world.

Parades creates an international community, gives people a sense of belonging, and it honors the fight for queer rights that has taken place throughout history, and that takes place today.

Last year more than 30,000 people participated in the parade in Bergen, and we look forward to being able to gather again on June 10th.

Who can participate in the parade?

Everyone can participate in the parade, but if you want to go as a group (e.g. a political party, organization, football club or corps), you must register in advance. 

Practical information:

Time:

Line-up for cars and other motorized vehicles: 11.00 – 12.00

Line-up for parade participants: 12.00 – 13.00

Parade start: 13.00

Where: Line-up on Festningskaien, and the parade starts at Statsraaden Bar & Reception.

Parade route: 

The parade will start by Bradbenken and move through the following streets/places: Bryggen – Torget – Strandgaten – Christian Michelsens gate – Markeveien –  Veiten – Engen – Vaskerelven – Torggaten – Nedre Ole Bulls where the parade will end by the Blue Stone 

Remember to follow light regulation and traffic rules to get from the end of the parade to Pride Park at Festplassen.
