John: I still think of you when I jerk off every night. 

M: A true worshiper stands before me. A true disciple. You think of me when you, no you still think of me … still. You’re still thinking of me though …? 

John: What? 

M: Although. You still jerk off to the thought of me though…. ? 

John: Although nothing. 

When John and his male cohabitant take a break, he happens to meet the woman of his life. This is the starting point for the piece “Cock” – a sharp and witty text about sexuality, identity and the difficulties that arise when you realize that you have a choice. The play became a hit in New York and London, and the text is presented by five actors in the Theater Cellar on the occasion of Bergne Pride. Mike Bartlett writes for theater, radio and television, and has won several awards. He has been a Writer-In-Residence at the National Theater in London and the pieces attracted great attention. His TV series “Doctor Foster” is what many people have seen on NRK.
