Deeply rooted in an indie / soul expression, you will find Beharie. With a singer-songwriter influenced songwriting, the music conveys a nerve that dares to be both vulnerable and insistent. Inspired by artists such as Michael Kiwanuka, Leon Bridges and Moses Sumney, Beharie has created an expressive musical universe, centered around melodic and experimental melodies.
After releasing a self-titled debut EP in 2019, This year, with some well-spent time in the studio, starting with a collaboration with Thomas Dybdahl, on the latter’s latest album, and by April 2021 releasing a second EP to a very good response. Just over six months later, the new single “Love Me” got fantastic feedback, and in the words of NRK P3: “The man the whole of Norway just has to discover is now back with new music.”
Despite a short career as a solo artist, Beharie has also managed to play warm up for national and international artists such as Bernhoft and Madison McFerrin. 2022 has already started off great with both appearances on Eurosonic’s digital implementation and the nomination for the Swedish Gaffa award. In the spring of 2022, new music will be released, and Beharie is ready for the first full-fledged European tour in support of the American William Fitzsimmons.
